Eco Faerie kindy show is a one hour eco-education experience for children aged 3-5years. Combining stories, songs and dancing to weave the themes of nature play, Australia wildlife, waste, composting and gardening.
The hour is broken down into two parts. The first 40 minute show is for all ages, even the toddlers can come for a dance and play! The second part is a planting activity that is best suited for 3-5 year olds. Each child plants a seed in a compostable cup with organic soil. The centre may choose to grow the pots as a class project or send them home.
An Eco Faerie will visit your centre and provide all materials and her own stereo. We are quite happy to accommodate everyone in the centre for the first section of the incursion however the activity is limited to 30 participants so that everyone gets the best experience possible.
Every kindy and pre-primary school we visit will receive a free Eco Faerie Album packed with original eco-educational songs that will keep the magic growing after your incursion.
We also encourage everyone to dress up and get involved- yes that means you teachers and carers, sprout your wings!

This workshop is a hands on experience with soil. Students look at sand, clay and compost. Through touch and play we learn the story of soil from how it came to be and how it helps plants to grow. Incursion format includes - Discussion about soil - Touch and feel, squish and squash. A hands on experience of soil, how it moves and how it changes when it gets wet. - Time to stir together some seed bombs. Students work together to mix a blend of soil plus seeds then roll the seed bombs into shape. Please note that this is a messy play workshop.
